Sierra Pacific Industries donates to the Foundation

In early late May, 2013, Sierra Pacific Industries Foundation donated $2,500 to the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF).

Philanthropic Consultant, Paul Stein accepted this generous donation from Mark Luster, Community Relations Manager for Sierra Pacific Industries Foundation.  Mr. Luster states, ““At Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) we believe that through our contribution to The Calaveras Community Foundation, we can support the vital role it plays in this community by providing active and positive programs for youth, seniors and other residents of our county.”

This donation from Sierra Pacific Industries benefits the Career and Technical Training (C&TT) Scholarship Fund. The C&TT Scholarship Fund, administered by the Foundation, was founded on the belief that high school graduates need to have options in pursuing training or further education aside from the traditional four-year college. A wide range of opportunities exists in our region for youth seeking associate degrees and certificates leading to good paying technical or vocational career paths.  C&TT scholarships for 2013 in the amount of $9,600 were recently awarded to 8 high school seniors.

“We are very grateful to Sierra Pacific Industries for their ongoing commitment to the Calaveras Community Foundation.  The SPI partnership is of great benefit to the Calaveras community and allows the Foundation to continue to improve the lives of area residents,” states Stein.  “SPI is a constant and generous donor to many charitable causes that benefit the Calaveras community. The Foundation appreciates their support.”

This ongoing partnership with businesses like SPI and like-minded donors enriches the quality of life of our grant/scholarship recipients now and is possible only with continued financial support of donors like Sierra Pacific Industries and others.
