Lyn Norfolk Joins CCF Board

Lynette (Lyn) Norfolk, recently retired Treasurer and Tax Collector of Calaveras County, has joined the board of directors of the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF).

After serving 37 years in county government, Lyn retired on December 31, 2010 and decided to give back in a different way. President Brent Harrington states, “What good fortune for CCF that Lyn has joined our group and will share her wealth of financial and county knowledge with us. Lyn has quickly acclimated herself by joining several key committees and has hit the pavement running!”

Born in Calaveras County, Lyn and her only sibling, Eloise, attended local elementary
school in San Andreas and graduated from Calaveras High School. Her
BA in Business Education was earned in 1970 from Cal State University in Chico.
After her marriage to Douglas Norfolk, they returned to Calaveras County and Lyn
began her county work career as an account clerk in the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s
Office. From there she was promoted to Public Works as a Cost Accountant and elected
as Treasurer and Tax Collector in 1998. Lyn is mother to two daughters and
grandmother to three.

CCF continues to fund grants and scholarships to countywide groups which provide
varied services at the grass roots level. Since 2001, CCF has awarded nearly $287,000
to these entities during its annual grant cycle, which just ended on June 1.
