Calaveras Community Foundation Receives Donation from Pacific Gas and Electric Company
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), the primary funder of The PG&E Corporation Foundation, recently presented Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) with a generous $5000 donation to benefit The Career and Technical Training (C&TT) Scholarship Fund.
The Career and Technical Training Scholarship Fund helps to support alternative forms of higher education, including trade school certificates and two-year community colleges. In 2018, ten students each received $1500.00 scholarships. This is the largest number of C&TT students recognized since the fund’s inception in 2010. Graduates from Calaveras High School, Bret Harte High School and Mountain Oaks Charter School were the recipients.
Varied fields of study will be pursued as students work towards obtaining two-year degrees or certificates. Fire science, welding, EMT/paramedic, cosmetology, fine arts, diesel mechanic, and nursing are the fields these graduates have chosen. CCF is very proud of these Calaveras County students and wishes them every success.
For the past eight years, PG&E have donated to the C&TT Scholarship Fund. Their commitment to work together with the communities they serve continues. In partnership with CCF, seeking to build a California that is even more vibrant, diverse and filled with an abundance of opportunities is the goal.
CCF administers the funds that make these C&TT scholarships possible. More than $70,000 has been awarded since 2010. Business partners like PG&E, as well as numerous individuals and other local businesses earmark their donations to benefit the C&TT fund. CCF is most thankful to PG&E for their continued loyal support.
