Black Oak Casino Resort Supports Many Causes in 2014
The Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) received a donation of $3,500 from the Black Oak Casino Resort. This 2014 contribution continues a mutually satisfying and beneficial partnership between Black Oak Casino Resort and the Foundation.
Many Calaveras County community groups and organizations benefited from these funds. Grad Night Foundations, at both Bret Harte High School and Calaveras High School received funds. Calaveras Mentoring Foundation were granted funds for their Spring Swing event. A donation was contributed to The Resource Connection’s 15th annual Children’s Fair in April. The Mind Matters sponsored “Off the Beaten Path Run for Autism Awareness” recognized Black Oak Casino’s donation as a tee-shirt sponsor. Habitat for Humanity-Calaveras’s “Hoedown for Habitat” in September as well as SAVE music in our schools were the recipients of funds. St. Patrick’s Helping Hands Outreach Ministry operates a food and clothing pantry in Angels Camp and received much needed support.
To demonstrate financial support to the education system in Calaveras County, Black Oak Casino Resort made donations to: CCOE’s Alternative Education Programs (Calaveras River Academy-Aquaponics project); Avery Middle School’s 6th grade Science Camp SEA Lab in Aptos, CA – donated enough to send 2 students; Copperopolis Elementary School-6th grade Science Camp- Santa Cruz Mountains.
These area-wide grants in 2014 clearly demonstrate Black Oak Casino Resort’s dedication and commitment to support local community causes in Calaveras County.
Ron Patel, Black Oak Casino Resort’s General Manager states, “The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians Tribal Council has a special interest in our neighbor’s non-profit efforts and individuals in Calaveras County who are seeking financial support. It is our goal, in working with the Foundation, to be able to assist many worthwhile causes in Calaveras to help them with their fundraising efforts.”
