Grants
Since the Foundation’s inception in 2000, Calaveras Community Foundation has distributed over $2,900,000 to worthy causes, through competitive grants, scholarships and assistance.
Applying for Grants
The competitive grant cycle occurs in July each year. Watch this website and local media in June for details. During the application period, you will find the simple application form and instructions on the Applying for Grants page.
The Foundation’s Grants Committee reviews the applications and selects the most worthy for competitive grants each year. A simple written agreement is then executed between the recipient and the Foundation and funds must typically be spent within one year of receipt.
In general, the Foundation does not approve grant requests outside the normal grant review cycle.
Scholarships
Through various scholarship funds, the Calaveras Community Foundation awards scholarships each year to seniors at Calaveras High School, Bret Harte Union High School, and Mountain Oaks School.
Applying for Scholarships
Scholarship applications are submitted directly through the high schools. Please contact your respective high school to learn about the application process. In general, applications are submitted in the fall/winter and awarded each May.
