Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) Awards Career & Technical Training (C&TT) Scholarships for 2018 Totaling $15,000

Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) awarded Career and Technical Training (C&TT) scholarships to a total of ten high school students during recent award night events. Seven Calaveras High School students, one Bret Harte High student and two Mountain Oaks students will each receive $1,500.
Calaveras High School students receiving awards and their fields of study are: Logan Arledge – fire science, Nicholas Brengle – fine arts, Casey Copulos – welding, Melissa Chavria – cosmetology, Ryan DeHerrera – diesel mechanic, Andrew Zachary – auto technology, and Marilou Sandoval – cosmetology. Various colleges will see these students registering for fall term including Columbia College, Modesto JC, Shasta, Delta, & Consumnes River College. Bret Harte High School student, Brandon Dodge, will be attending Columbia College and seeking a nursing degree.
Mountain Oaks School student Madeline Hanshaw will be working toward a degree as an EMT/paramedic at Columbia College. Hope Wiley will also be attending Columbia College for a nursing degree.

CCF administers the funds that make these C&TT scholarships possible. Since the C&TT fund’s inception in 2011, over $70,000 has been awarded. Business partners who earmark their generous donations to benefit the C&TT fund are Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Sierra Pacific Industries and Save Mart Supermarkets along with numerous individuals and other local businesses.
